Meta is working on smart watches with cameras!
With the newly emerging patents, the designs of Meta’s new smart watches have emerged. When we look at the patents, 2 patents welcome us. One of these patents belongs to the model with a structure similar to the Apple Watch and 1 camera, and the other belongs to a smart watch model with a similar design to the Samsung Galaxy Watch and containing 3 cameras.
When we look at the date of these patents, we see that the patents were applied on June 24, 2021. The patents were approved and issued by WIPO on January 13, 2022. In the first seen patent, 1 camera welcomes us. In addition, the 1st patent offers a detachable screen feature. With this feature, you will be able to change the orientation of the screen to change the angle of the camera.
In the second patent, 3 camera sensors welcome us. All of these cameras are located above the screen. In general, both smartwatches have heart rate sensors, motion sensors and activity recognition sensors. It is not yet clear what technologies the cameras to be used in these smart watches will have or what resolution they will have.
