The artwork that the Kunsten Modern Museum requested from the artist was a rearrangement of a work showing the annual income of a Dane and an Australian. Shortly after the agreement was signed, Haaning sent an installation to the museum consisting of only two glass frames.
Stating that he “added his own interpretation” to the work, Haaning said that he named this work, which he made for 750 thousand dollars, “Take the money and run” and that the real art in this work is to get the money of the museum.

Although the Kunsten Modern Museum objected to the artist after this incident, Haaning states that it does not accept these objections and will not return the money in any way. Describing the incident as “fraud”, the museum has announced that it will report the situation to the police and initiate legal action if it does not return the money until the exhibition ends next January.
Danish artist Haaning stated that he added his own interpretation to the hollow frames and that the name of this work of art was “Take the money and run” and said, “The thing is art, I don’t take their money”.
