Twitter has launched the Super Follow feature, which provides income through donations. Thanks to Super Follow, you subscribe to the account of a content producer of your choice. Then you can access the paid shares it offers. Twitter, which also places a ‘super follower’ icon on your profile, distinguishes you from other users with this method.
The donation system exists in almost all social media and broadcasting platforms. While YouTube allows channels to generate income in addition to advertisements, thanks to the Join feature; Twitch, which is frequently used by broadcasters, has been working this way since its foundation. On the other hand, Instagram is developing a similar feature.
Twitter adds special tab to Super Follow subscribers
When you follow an account on Twitter, if it is active, the ‘Super Follow’ button appears. After clicking this button, the full-screen information card welcomes you. Here, you can read the details you need to know about the Super Follow feature, in addition to the information message made by the account owner.
When you follow someone with the SuperFollow feature, the ‘Super Follow Tweets’ tab in their profile is available to you. Here, you can access tweets and photos/videos shared by the account owner for subscribers. Twitter also displays a small informational message on the screen so you can distinguish between regular tweets and super follow tweets.
Your super followers will see the tweets you retweeted.
You can retweet and quote a profile’s posts in the Super Follow Tweets tab. However, they will only be visible to users who are super-followers of that person.
Non-subscribers will be able to read your comment in the quote tweet feature, but will be required to Super Follow the creator in order to see the relevant super follow tweet.
As a content producer, you need to have at least 10 thousand followers to activate Super Follow on your profile. The price of the feature varies between $2.99, $4.99 and $9.99 USD. The fee is determined by the creator himself.
In the meantime, it is worth noting that Super Follow is not the only way to make money on Twitter. The company’s Tip Box allows users to donate to accounts they love. In addition, thanks to Ticketed Rooms, you can earn income by opening paid Spaces (Chat Rooms). Spaces recently lifted the 1000 minimum follower limit and is now available to all users.
