Instagram has started testing the chronological post view it promised last month. The company will allow users to switch between sorting chronologically and algorithmically. According to Instagram’s manager Mosseri, users will soon see three different sorting options: Classic, Liked and Followed.
The classic feed is the same as what Instagram currently offers. Likes will show posts from the most contacted accounts. Following will sort posts in chronological order.
These changes will not be sent to everyone at once. Mosseri said it will be tested on test batches first, then made available to everyone “in the first half of this year”.
