Hasselblad became one of the companies that made its mark in history by producing cameras and photographic equipment in Sweden in 1841. Then, it was shaped in line with the requirements of the period. For example, he produced the HK7, the aerial observation camera used in airplanes, in order to capture German technology during World War II.
Today, Hasselblad has a positive outlook on doing business with nearly every company in the technology industry. Finally, last year, OnePlus joined forces with Hasselblad to improve the camera performance of the OnePlus 9 Pro. The successful collaboration continued on the OnePlus 10 Pro, along with a few software add-ons. But now, another smartphone maker has emerged to take its share of the pie.
Oppo has signed with Hasselblad!
Oppo has announced a three-year strategic partnership with the Swedish camera manufacturer. According to Oppo, the two brands will focus on improving color science in Find X flagship phones. In particular, the upcoming Find X5 series will be the first smartphone to see the fruit of the partnership.
However, some leaks say that Oppo wants the Find X5 Pro to be the only smartphone that will use Hasselblad lenses and technologies. In other words, the Find X5 and Find X5 Lite devices will not benefit from this cooperation in order to keep the costs of other models low.
Oppo did not go into details on the matter. But he said he will leverage Hasselblad’s color calibration technology to bring the most natural skin tones possible in portrait photography. Therefore, we may encounter software features similar to what we saw from the OnePlus-Hasselblad partnership.
OnePlus 10 Pro, for example, has a Hasselblad Pro Mode that combines the benefits of shooting in RAW (raw image) with the phone’s artificial intelligence photography capabilities. So we can see similar new features in Oppo Find X5 Pro.
Pete Lau, Chief Product Officer of Oppo, said in a statement on the subject:
Following the success of OnePlus and Hasselblad’s collaboration last year, the partnership has entered a new phase of development and is bringing the legendary to more users around the world. We are very pleased to see that Hasselblad gives you the chance to enjoy the mobile viewing experience
