Cardano (ADA), which gained the smart contract feature with the Vasil hard fork, exceeded the number of 4 thousand smart contracts.

The Cardano blockchain network had taken an important step forward by supporting smart contracts with the Vasil hard fork. With the inclusion of Plutus Scripts, which represents smart contracts, into the network, there has been a significant increase in the number of users and smart contracts.

Cardano Passes 4,000 Smart Contracts

According to data from Blockchain Insights, the number of applications on the Cardano network, which has become more efficient with the Vasil hard fork, reached 4,027 in August on December 3. When we look at the graph of Cardano, which passed the threshold of 4 thousand with the beginning of December, it is seen that the number of applications increased to 3,015 on August 2.

The chart shows smart contracts created using Plutus and currently running on the Cardano blockchain network. As of December 4, the total number of smart contracts is over 4,000. This value represents a 316 percent growth in 2022 after the registration of 947 smart contracts on January 1.

After the Alonso hard fork was completed, Cardano was able to provide the developer community with a programmability and decentralized finance (DeFi) application development platform.
