It turned out that Elden Ring had sold around 20.5 million copies in a little over a year. The source of this issue is based on an investor report spotted by a ResetEra forum user.
“Elden Ring sales have increased, particularly overseas, and we have seen sales reaching 20.5 million worldwide,” Bandai Namco writes in the document. The publisher adds that it expects a “pullback” in the game’s sales. But if Elden Ring can sell a few million more copies, it will become one of the best-selling games of all time, featuring games like God of War (2018) and Grand Theft Auto V.
Meanwhile, Elden Ring had the best launch of a FromSoftware software ever. Bandai Namco has sold over 12 million copies of its action RPG in just 18 days, and for a game expected to sell nearly 4 million copies in five days, that’s pretty good news. Elden Ring’s continued strong performance is also considered a good sign for FromSoftware’s next game, Armored Core VI. When it launches in August, the game will be the first entry in the Armored Core series in nearly a decade.
