Apple will introduce new versions of other operating systems along with iOS 16 at the WWDC22 event that will start on June 6th. As always, developers will get the beta version first. However, according to journalist Mark Gurman’s claim, the public beta program will arrive a little later than usual this year.
As is known, the first public beta of a new iOS version is usually released simultaneously with the second developer beta. However, Mark Gurman said that this situation will change in iOS 16 and users who want to test the operating system will have to wait for Developer Beta 3 to come out.
The first public beta for iOS 16 was released in July
, according to Gurman, because the first public beta of iOS 16 contained critical bugs that could not be installed on the iPhone. If these bugs can be fixed, the first public beta of iOS 16 and iPadOS 16 will be available simultaneously with the third developer beta coming in July.
By the way, before the WWDC22 event, iPhone models that will not receive iOS 16 have also emerged. In this context, considering that the iPhone 6s series was launched in 2015 and the 1st generation SE in 2016, we can say that they received software support for about 7 years.
Although there is no explanation from Apple on the subject, it is likely that the devices in question will lose update support. In addition, the iPhone models that will receive iOS 16 are expected to be as follows;
- iPhone SE (2022)
- iPhone 13 Pro Max
