Streaming service giant Netflix has launched a new feature called My Netflix, which aims to help users save time while searching for something to watch.
My Netflix is located in the lower right corner of the updated Netflix app. It functions as a special area that hosts various things such as the episodes you have downloaded, the TV shows and movies saved in My List, the reminders you set, and the TV shows and movies you are currently watching or have watched in the past.
My Netflix also shows the movies and TV shows you like. Many lists were already available on the service, such as My List and watch history, but were scattered across the Netflix app. The company claims, via a blog post, that My Netflix is “a one-stop shop tailored for you with easy shortcuts to help you choose what you want to watch.”
“When you’re on the go with your phone, go straight to My Netflix to quickly select something you’ve saved or downloaded to watch. You can keep visiting your Home tab and other parts of the app to explore our full catalog of TV shows and movies.”
My Netflix is currently available on iOS and will also come to Android in early August. The new feature update came shortly after the streaming giant introduced restrictions on how people can use its service. Password sharing restrictions that seem to be working have now spread to over 100 countries.
According to reports, the password restrictions did not have a negative impact on Netflix, and the company gained more than 5.9 million new subscribers in the second quarter of 2023. Apart from that, Netflix has also removed this plan in the US and UK after ending its Basic ad-free plan in Canada earlier this year.
