An important warning has come to those who want to experience the new Magic Mouse and Magic Keyboard accessories with USB Type-C input, which Apple recently introduced. Apple’s official statements do not match real life.

New Magic Mouse and Magic Keyboard warning

In the introduction of its new accessories with USB Type-C input, Apple stated that it is compatible with all Mac devices after 2018. However, the first consumers who start using the device encounter an unpleasant surprise.

According to shared experiences, Mac computers with macOS Sequoia 15 and earlier versions cannot fully use new accessories. These include Touch ID and missing function keys.

Users state that macOS Sequoia 15.1 is required for a complete experience. So there are missing points in Apple’s statement. In addition, the macOS Sequoia update can be partially installed on 2019 iMac and 2018 Mac mini devices. It is not yet clear whether this will be a disadvantage.
