US-based technology giant Apple continues its final work on iOS 17, which is only a few days away from its official release. In this context; The sixth developer beta of the new operating system has finally been released. However, in this version, an important change has been made for a feature that iPhone users are used to.

If you want to end a call on iPhones using iOS 16, simply tap the red call end button at the bottom-middle of the screen. In fact, this button is in the same place on Android phones and its location has become the standard. Here iOS 17 will change this situation. The call end button, which was brought to the same level with other buttons in the past beta versions and moved to the bottom right, has been moved once again in the last developer beta version.

This is how the call end button in iOS 17 will be placed according to the last beta version:

As you can see in the screenshot above; In iOS 17, the call end button will be among other buttons that provide call controls. This row of buttons will still be at the bottom of the screen, but appearing as a group may cause problems at the first stage due to user habits. Yes, it is now closer to its old location as it will be in the middle, but it is not exactly in its iOS 16 location. Therefore, those who press the button by heart without looking at the button may think that they have ended the call and leave the phone open.

The screenshot above reveals the position of the call end button found in previous developer beta versions of iOS 17. To be frank, the position in the sixth developer beta is much better than in previous versions. Because users have been seeing the new call end button positioned in the middle for a very long time. The fact that the button was in the bottom right would have made the familiarization process even longer.

When talking on the phone, the call end button is arguably the button we use the most. At least for most of us this is the case. We don’t know if it was really necessary to bring together a button that we rarely use, such as adding a call, with the one we use the most… The call screen in iOS 16 seems to have the most optimal design in many respects. So what do you think about this?
