Microsoft Defender tires the system the most
Many people prefer Microsoft Defender as their default antivirus software because it comes as part of the Windows operating system. However, according to a recent evaluation of several different security suites, Microsoft’s product uses more system resources compared to other antivirus programs.
The good news for users is that Microsoft Defender has excellent scores of 6 in the protection and usability categories, but its 5 points in performance put it at 15th place on the list. By the way, as AV-TEST points out, all of those on this list have had pretty good results. AV-TEST states that Microsoft Defender has broken such a score because it consumes much higher system than others.
