Unreal Engine 5, which was announced by the game engine producer Epic Games on May 13, 2020 and opened to early access last May, enchanted the audience with its first demos. However, the new videos released by the developer named Ziva Dynamics this week left us face to face with the best face animations ever.
Unreal 5 takes visuals to another level
As you may remember, in May of last year, the announcement of Unreal Engine 5 was announced with a real-time demo on PlayStation 5. The demo, which fascinated the audience with its interactivity, dynamic lighting and incredible level of detail, revealed what we could encounter in the future. It was even claimed that the published video was prepared in advance and was CGI.
While contemplating how far the demo, which you can watch again, can go further, the developer named Ziva Dynamics has announced its brand new cloud-based facial animation browser. The project named ZRT Face Trainer creates the most realistic face animations we have seen so far, using machine learning technique with its beta version.
The video posted on Ziva’s YouTube channel, which you can watch right below, was shot in real time at 4K and 60FPS. ZRT Face Trainer’s database contains 15TB of 4D images and can simulate a total of 72,000 different facial expressions in real time with Unreal Engine 5.
Finally, we should add; this realized project may never reach the end user. Instead, the firm will try to market this technology to various game makers who want to use it in their games. However, if the technology they show is already at this level, we can watch unbelievable animations in the games we will play in the near future.
