The latest study conducted by Kaspersky researchers addressed popular games in the computer and mobile market. Stating that hackers are engaged in various harmful activities using popular games, experts drew attention to malware and the number of attacked players.
It was stated that more than 380 thousand players fell into the network of hackers in about a year. Among the main methods used by hackers are fake cheat programs, software that affects computer performance, and various game codes.
According to Kaspersky’s research, the primary choice of hackers was Minecraft. It was stated that 131 thousand players were affected by the attacks between July 2021 and June 2022, and there were more than 23 thousand malicious files in total.
Roblox, which is popularly played by children under the age of 12, took the second place. Other games that stood out according to the results of the research were PUBG: Mobile, Need for Speed, Grand Theft Auto and Call of Duty.
