The video game industry, led by consoles and computers, has gained momentum with smartphones owned by more than 6 billion people. A new report has been shared by gaming industry analyst Newzoo showing the evolution of mobile PC and console gaming.
Bigger than PC and Consoles combined
According to the shared report, the mobile gaming industry, which has a 53 percent share among all devices, earned a total revenue of over 90 billion dollars last year. However, this sector, which has a larger share than consoles and PCs combined, has also managed to be the fastest growing gaming segment.
The report continues that most of the mobile gaming industry revenue comes from the Asia-Pacific region, with China providing more than a third of the revenue. Call of Duty Mobile, PUBG and Genshin Impact games, which are among the shared data, provided a total of $ 18 billion in revenue to their developers, Tencent and Mihoyo.
While PC and console sales continue to decline with the easing of Covid-19 restrictions, the smartphone market, which has been on the rise since 2021, seems to continue its development as developers make their games more usable on various devices.
