Dozens of countries, including the United States and China, intend to restrict the use of artificial intelligence in military conflicts. It is desired to equate artificial intelligence with nuclear and chemical weapons.At a conference in The Hague, more than 60 countries called for international rules to limit the use of AI on battlefields. Rule-making work begins
2,000 delegates from countries and technology companies agreed to form a commission that would regulate the use of artificial intelligence in wars. Participants will soon begin work on identifying key principles.
A former NATO commander, General Joerg Vollmer, believes that decisions on the battlefield should be made by people and be responsible for them. Conference participants also think that artificial intelligence may have “undesirable consequences” for all humanity.
