The Tuned app, which Meta is in testing phase and probably doesn’t even know existed, was developed with the aim of keeping couples constantly excited about their relationship. However, the target audience was much less interested in this app than anticipated. Meta is known for unplugging apps that don’t get attention. As of September 19, this application will not attract attention and will be among the applications removed to the cemetery.

Meta’s NPE team announced in April 2020 that it had developed the Tuned app to provide a “private space” for couples. In this space that was theirs alone, they would be able to share their feelings, messages full of love, discussions and the music they loved. The timing was also interesting because it coincided with the exact time the coronavirus pandemic started. In theory, this would be an environment that couples who were separated from each other for certain reasons would use to keep their relationship intact.

Unfortunately, the development of the app has been discontinued, primarily because it was only available under iOS, and then did not receive much attention. It was intended as a personal competitor to applications such as Facebook and Instagram, but most users preferred to use these “big” applications, and many social media users did not even know about this application because it was not promoted much.
