The Russia-Ukraine war, which has been going on for more than a year, has led us to witness historical events. One of them was the destruction of the world’s largest aircraft, the Antonov An-225 Mriya. The attack carried out by the Russian army directly against the Antonov An-225 Mriya on February 27, 2022, caused the aircraft to become unusable. Ukraine decided to rebuild the plane after the attack last year. In fact, some meetings were held in November 2022 for this. The Ukrainian government announced that around $500 million will be spent to revive the plane. Today, Ukrainian sources shared the latest photos of the Antonov An-225 Mriya via Insider. Photos taken last August reveal that the dismantling process of the plane is continuing.

Antonov An-225 Mriya, signed by the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics (USSR), was a unique aircraft. In fact, an order was placed for a second Antonov An-225, but the project was never completed due to the collapse of the Soviet Union.
The aircraft, which was initially developed solely to carry the USSR’s “Buran” spacecraft, was used in several important missions in the 1990s. It was then delivered to Ukraine. Ukraine occasionally used this giant aircraft for commercial cargo transportation.
Antonov An-225 Mriya, which had a wingspan of 88 meters, was 84 meters long. The transport plane, which had a total of 32 wheels, weighed more than 635 tons. Here you see the final version of this huge plane…
