The competition in the tablet market continues at full speed. Problems such as the recent pandemic, the global chip crisis and the Russia-Ukraine war have negatively affected the industry and sales have dropped drastically. However, there is a slight recovery by 2022. Finally, market research firm IDC shared its new report revealing the second quarter of this year. So what about tablet sales?

How about tablet sales?

IDC has shared its new report covering the second quarter of 2022. Accordingly, tablet sales did not decrease significantly compared to 2021. However, giant manufacturers of the industry such as Apple, Samsung and Lenovo lost some of their market shares.

Being at the top for a long time and making a difference to its competitors in sales, Apple achieved 12.6 million sales in the second quarter of the year and had a 31 percent market share. However, it experienced a decrease of 2.89 percent compared to the same period of the previous year.

Samsung, one of Apple’s biggest rivals in the tablet market, as it is in every field, made 7.3 million sales in the second quarter of 2022. The South Korean company received an 18.1 percent share of the pie, a 10.63 percent drop compared to the same period last year.

The most prominent name in the report was Amazon. The company generated 5.5 million sales this year and increased its market share to 13.6 percent. This corresponds to an increase of 26.92 percent compared to the previous year. In addition, the manufacturer with the most blood loss was Lenovo. The company faced a 25.67 percent drop.
