Naughty Dog’s popular game The Last of Us, which is popular worldwide and also appeared as a TV series adaptation, continued with The Last of Us: Part 2, released in 2020. The game, which took place five years after the first game, could only be played on PS4. There was no PS5 version. It was only available on this console as a backwards compatible PS4 game.
Recently, there have been rumors that a remastered version of The Last of Us: Part 2 may be coming, but there was no confirmation from Naughty Dog. The information published on LinkedIn today confirmed the future of the game.
Naughty Dog employee accidentally confirms Remastered version will be coming
Mark Pajarillo, who works at Naughty Dog, added information about his position to his LinkedIn profile. In this information, Pajarillo stated that he took part in “The Last of Us: Part I” and “The Last of Us 2: Remastered”. This confirmed the claim that has been circulating among gamers for months, even years.
Some previous claims said that the game could be released as a “Director’s Cut”. However, Pajarillo’s post showed that it will come directly as “Remastered” instead. This version, which will adapt The Last of Us Part 2 to the present day, will probably come with minor improvements in areas such as graphics. We know that the game already has very good graphics and gameplay. Therefore, it is a matter of curiosity what changes the renewed version will bring.
This is not the first major leak about the remastered version. Gustavo Santaolalla, who composed the music for Part 2, also let slip that an “improved version” of the game would come in an interview in July.
It is not known when The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered will be officially announced. We can expect Naughty Dog to make an announcement soon. Finally, it wouldn’t be wrong to guess that the game will come to PlayStation 5 with this version.
