Falling prices of devices is always good news for consumers. According to recent leaks, the iPhone 15 – at least one model – looks like it could get a price cut. It seems that Apple is considering lowering the price of the iPhone 15 Plus, which will be released in September.
As reported by Macworld, the source of this leak is Yeux1122, a reputable online resource on the South Korean social network Naver. It seems that this decision is being given serious consideration within the company and is considered as a response to the inadequate sales of the current Plus model.
The 128GB version of the iPhone 14 Plus, which was introduced earlier this year along with other models, has a starting price of $ 899. However, this model does not seem to be able to attract as many buyers as Apple wanted.
While Apple has an option to cancel the Plus model, the development work on the iPhone 15 may have made that option irrational. Therefore, a price reduction on the phone that replaces the iPhone 13 mini may be the next most logical step.
It’s worth noting that the iPhone 14 Pro Max offers the same screen size as the Plus, but adds features like a faster chip, Dynamic Island, and always-on display for $200. These additional features make the Pro Max a better option in terms of price-performance.
There is no indication yet how big the price cut might be or how it might affect the prices of other models in the series. There is also talk that Apple may introduce a more powerful, more expensive iPhone 15 Ultra next year.
