This feature works similarly to Optimized Battery Charging, but the new option will always limit charging to a certain battery level.
Since the iPhone 15 has not been released yet, it is not known whether this feature will be turned on by default. It is estimated that the new option will be limited to iPhone 15 models with USB-C, as it is found in iOS 17 RC codes and not seen on iPhone 14 models.
