Qualcomm usually introduces its new flagship processors in December. However, this year, the company’s new processor seems to be introduced two weeks earlier than expected. An event shared on the company’s website also revealed the introduction date of the new Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 .
Qualcomm accidentally shared the launch date of its new processor
The time specified for the event called Snapdragon Summit points between 14 and 17 November. Probably on this date, the new Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 will also appear. The event calendar was removed from the website right after the sharing. This also confirms that the introduction date of Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 is real.
Although the activity has been removed from the website, we think that Qualcomm accidentally shared this date. Qualcomm doesn’t usually announce upcoming events in Hawaii this early. Therefore, it is highly possible that the sharing was shared incorrectly by the team in California.
If there is no change in the accidentally announced event, Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 will be with us in November. The first customers of the new processor are expected to be Xiaomi and Motorola. Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 has important innovations compared to its predecessor.
The first of these is the change of the core sequence. In the new processor, 1+2+2+4 order will be used, unlike the 1+3+4 array in its previous variants. At the same time, the new processor will be produced with TSMC’s 4 nm technology.
The types of cores that will be included in the processor have also been determined. Accordingly, the processor will be one Cortex-X3, two Cortex-A720, two Cortex-A710 and three Cortex-A510. On the graphics front, we will encounter the Adreno 740.
Qualcomm seems to be quite ambitious with its new processor. So what do you think about the new Snapdragon 8 Gen 2? You can share your views with us in the comments section.
