One of the visual highlights of the iPhone 14 Pro is a new notch called Dynamic Island that shows incoming calls, text messages, various notifications and minimized apps.
Some users say this feature is completely useless, while Apple enthusiasts praise this innovative solution and even make fun of Android phone manufacturers for not thinking about it before.
Is Apple “inspired” by the Honor V20?
However, a similar feature was also made available in the Android world, and the Honor V20, which went on sale in late 2018, had a similar feature to Dynamic Island. At that time, the front camera holes embedded in the screens were gaining popularity. Honor used a one-hole solution in the upper left corner and developed a feature called ‘pod’.
During video chat, the active front camera connects to the UI and creates a green visual pod around the camera to show it’s working. When taking a selfie, the ‘capsule’ also turns into a reminder message to keep the user looking towards the camera.
It is worth adding that the Dynamic Island notch on the iPhone 14 Pro has much more features. However, whether Apple was inspired by the Honor V20 while developing this feature is a question mark.
