According to Mark Gurman’s statements, Apple is preparing to make some innovations regarding its voice assistant. As part of these preparations, Siri’s functionality will be increased and it will be triggered directly when addressed by name. Thus, it will be enough to say ‘Siri’ instead of ‘Hey Siri’ to reach Siri.
Siri has been serving Apple users for years since the release of iOS 5 was introduced. It is actively used in all operating systems iOS, MacOS, watchOS and tvOS. Apple, which has been modernizing the virtual assistant it has been using on its devices for years, is working on new features to make Siri much more useful.
In Gurman’s statement, there are many details about the new version. Among these details, with the removal of the command, the new version will work more compatible with third-party applications compared to the version currently in use. Unfortunately, we do not know when we can take advantage of the innovations at the moment, but it is one of the predictions that it will be introduced with iOS 17.
