Gifting different full version games to PSN Plus subscribers every month, Sony’s gifts this month included the new version of Godfall called Challenger Edition. It turned out that Godfall: Challenger Edition, which is thought to be a package containing all the content previously published by the players, has a limited content that can be called a demo.

PSN Plus disappointing in December

A forum user, who has been leaking PSN Plus games for the last three months, managed to predict the games that will be gifted in December about two weeks ago. On top of that, last week, Sony PlayStation Germany accidentally leaked the games with a tweet. Finally, PlayStation, which published an announcement on its official blog this week, confirmed the upcoming games.

Among the games that will be given this month, there was a remarkable production: Goldfall: Challenger Edition. It turned out that the Challenger Edition, which is estimated to be the version of the production, which was developed by Counterplay Games and released for PS4 last year, including additional packages, is a cropped version of the game that does not even include the story mode.

Daniel Nordlander, one of the game’s producing team, confirmed that Challenger Edition will include 3 different challenge modes from the main game, but these modes do not include the main story or Fire & Darkness DLC. Despite this, Nordlander insisted that it was not a demo. The Metacritic average of Godfall, which was released in 2020, is currently 61/100.

Games that PSN Plus gifted in December:

  • Before You Fall (VR)
  • The Walking Dead: Saints and Sinners (VR)
  • The Persistence (VR)
  • Godfall: Challenger Edition (PlayStation 5)
  • LEGO DC Super Villians (PlayStation 4)

After the PSN Plus game list for December was announced, the players found the productions other than LEGO DC Super Villians quite weak. After Godfall was also a limited release, the famous Japanese company Sony drew quite a reaction.

So what do you think about the gifted games and Godfall: Challenger Edition? Do you think it is right to release the limited version of the game? Do not forget to share your views with us in the comments section.
