Moon Studios, the developer behind Ori and the Blind Forest and Ori and the Will of the Wisps, introduced its new project at The Game Awards. This game, called No Rest for the Wicked, represents the studio’s first foray into isometric ARPGs in the Diablo genre. And frankly, she looks absolutely stunning.

Fascinating new world: No Rest for the Wicked

From what we’ve seen so far, No Rest for the Wicked can still be described as a Moon Studios game, although it’s quite different from the Ori games. It’s set in a gorgeous, picturesque world with significant verticality and scale, hidden treasures, monsters to fight, and quests galore.

The game takes place in the kingdom of Isola Sacra in 841, when the king passed away. The transition of power to succession quickly becomes fraught and escalates into conflict, while at the same time a plague manifesting itself in terrifying diseased creatures strikes the island nation. Players can battle monsters and hordes of enemies alone or with up to three players in online co-op, work together to overcome challenges, or separate the group entirely and adventure simultaneously but alone.

The turmoil causes a powerful religious leader to expand his influence in the region, while fringe groups fight to seize whatever control they can. On the other hand, players will take on the role of a divine warrior called Cerim, who is infused with magic and whose destiny is to fight Pestilence.

No Rest for the Wicked comes out in 2024

No Rest for the Wicked is published by Private Division and is scheduled to release for early access on PC in the first quarter of 2024, with a full release expected later for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S. More details will be shared as part of “Wicked Inside”, which will be broadcast on YouTube and Twitch on March 1. You can watch the trailer below.
