Epic executive: It’s easy to shoot Fortnite movie
Epic Games, the developer of Fortnite, talked about the adaptation of the battle-royale game for the first time. Donald Mustard, Creative Director of Epic Games, said in an interview that there are no active plans for the Fortnite movie. However, he underlined that they are always open to adaptation projects.
Donald Mustard stated that Epic Games is currently focusing on the game. He said they are prioritizing upcoming seasons, events and updates for Fortnite. Mustard also claimed that “any studio would greenlight it in a second” to the film adaptation.
Known for their Marvel movies, the Russo brothers own a studio called AGBO. Epic Games, on the other hand, has a remarkable financial investment in AGBO. This means that a big-budget Fortnite movie could be shot by the Russo brothers.
While there are no plans for the adaptation yet, Mustard detailed what the Fortnite movie might be like. He stressed the importance of “engaging storytelling,” as in the game’s various seasons and episodes.
The popular battle-royale production had collaborated with many franchises, from Marvel to Star Wars. A possible TV series or movie project for Fortnite could also activate the gaming industry.
