The first phase of the Girls Codes with Reeder project, which was implemented to provide coding training to female students in vocational and technical education Anatolian high schools, has been completed. Reeder explained how many students were reached in the first place and how much education was given.

Reached 2,680 female students

The project, implemented in cooperation with Reeder and the Ministry of National Education, reached 2,680 female students aged 12-18, studying at 50 vocational and technical Anatolian high schools. Students were given “STEAM” trainings, which integrated science, technology, engineering, art and mathematics disciplines on reelab.com.tr.

278 students received face-to-face training

Face-to-face training was given to 278 female students who successfully completed their education and exams. With applied face-to-face workshops that lasted 8 days in total, it was possible to transform the learned theoretical knowledge into practice and to produce the first prototypes.

Pointing out that women play a transformative role in shaping the global economy, Reeder Co-Founder Sezen Sungur Saral said:

“Our project, which we took the first steps in 2022, has become the excitement, hope and light of thousands of female students today. The feedback we receive from both students and teachers is an indication of the contribution we produce. We are working to take bigger steps this year with our belief in science and youth. In the coming period, we will continue our work in different provinces, including Mersin and Gaziantep, which we could not go to due to the earthquake.”
