Epic Games is on the road to major innovation in the Unreal Engine game engine, allowing us to see some of the top graphics games of today. So far, we have seen cinematic Star Wars animations created with Unreal Engine 5, the Gears of War demo and of course the first promotional videos created by Epic Games and we were very impressed. The first game to switch to this game engine, which allows the creation of these graphics that can be called the closest to reality, has also been announced today.
Fortnite migrated to Unreal Engine 5
The first game to switch to Epic Games’ Unreal Engine 5 game engine was the company’s own game, Fortnite. According to the announcement made by Unreal Engine, Fortnite switched to the Unreal Engine 5 game engine with Chapter 3. “We are excited to share this journey with you and we are working to make it the best possible experience for the entire Fortnite community,” Unreal said in the announcement. ”
This announcement shared by Unreal Engine also explained why the last update took longer than other updates. The game migrated to Unreal Engine 5, while bringing with it new mechanics such as log cracking, lightning and storms. Graphically, no significant changes were made.
Of course, we can’t wait for realistic graphics to come with Fortnite’s transition to Unreal Engine 5. With the upgrade to the game engine, the new tools that come with this upgrade can be taken advantage of, and elements of Fortnite such as texture quality, lighting and effects can be improved in the future. But it is a little impossible to touch the original structure of the game.
