Google Fit, the wellness application developed by Google in partnership with the World Health Organization and the American Heart Association, has been updated for iOS users. With the update brought specifically to the Google Pixel series in the past months, the application, which has the feature of heart rhythm and pulse measurement via the camera sensor, has now been updated for Apple iOS users.
Google Fit updated for iOS
Google Fit, which was first introduced by Google in 2014 exclusively for the Android platform, is developing day by day, where users can instantly monitor their health values, as well as track their workouts on both their smart phones and smart watches. Finally, the feature of measuring heart and respiratory rhythm via the camera sensor brought specifically to the Google Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro series is finally offered to Apple iOS users.
Finally updated for the Pixel series, Google Fit will now be able to measure heart rate and respiratory rate on iOS devices. According to new information from 9to5Google, Apple iPhone users using Google Fit will be able to provide these two measurements using the rear camera on their devices. In addition, this new feature can work when there is no active internet connection on the device.
The heart rate measurement takes about 30 seconds and provides a graph showing the heart rate per minute (BPM) in detail. After the process is completed, the user also has the option to save vital information to Google Fit. This new feature will be available on iPhone 7 and above devices and iPad Pro.
