On Sunday, February 24, around 14:27, a strong X2.0 solar explosion occurred in the AR 4001 sunspice near the northwest edge of the Sun. NOAA’s Space Forecast Center (SWPC) said in a statement on this issue that the explosion did not lead to a CME and therefore no major impact on the world.

The explosion was also recorded as a radio cutting which was classified as “R3 – Strong”. This is under the “extreme” (R5) and “severe” (R4) events according to the SWPC’s Space Air Scale.
