WhatsApp has finally released its expected update. The biggest reason why this update was expected so much was undoubtedly the ability to react to messages with emojis (or emoticons). It also paved the way for large file transfers and the creation of larger groups. It is now possible to transfer files larger than 100 MB, up to 2 GB. In addition, adding up to 512 participants to a group is among the features offered by the new update.
It has been obvious for a while that WhatsApp will offer emoticon reactions. Being able to react to messages with emojis eliminates the need for people to reply with a message and it’s sure to reduce clutter. It’s like reacting to a Facebook post or Messenger message with emoticons.
The second feature WhatsApp has added is the ability to send files up to 2GB. The limit was previously set to 100MB, but now we can say that it has been adapted to today’s conditions.
Finally, WhatsApp has increased the participant limit in groups to 512 members, making it more useful for organizations. For example, a school might create a group for parents to send important messages.
