One of the biggest advantages of PC gamers is that they can play with each and every one of the graphics settings in detail. However, consoles have not had many graphics options until now. However, it was also not possible to change the settings of the monitor. Therefore, even minor image adjustments that can be made on consoles excite us.

PlayStation 5 is a console that can give different frame rates depending on the graphics quality you choose. As you changed the frame rate, there could be tears in the image transmitted by the console to the television. The new feature announced for PlayStation 5 brought a setting to prevent this problem.

VRR support for PlayStation 5 has been released

The VRR feature, which allows changing the refresh rate of the image transmitted to the television or monitor, will be software added to the PlayStation 5 consoles. You may have noticed that when you play a game at 30FPS and set your television to 60Hz, there may be screen tearing and different problems. This setting, which can be easily accessed on a PC, can be used on VRR supported and HDMI 2.1 televisions.

The feature does not currently support all games. The list of supported games that will expand over time is as follows:

  • Astro’s Playroom
  • Call of Duty: Vanguard
  • Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War
  • Destiny 2
  • Devil May Cry 5 Special Edition
  • DIRT 5
  • Godfall
  • Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered
  • Marvel’s Spider- Man: Miles Morales
  • Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart
  • Resident Evil Village
  • Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands
  • Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege
  • Tribes of Midgard

Another plus of the feature is that it solves the problem called input lag. Input lag is a very small but noticeable delay when you press a button on the controller. Input lag is extremely important for competitive games like Rainbow Six Siege. This problem can be caused not only by the controller, but also by the monitor you are viewing. PlayStation 5 will now be able to offer less input lag with VRR support.

To use this feature, you must update the system software to the latest version and make sure that the game is up to date. If you are one of those people who constantly go back and forth between performance and quality mode, you will be able to get a more stable image with VRR.

Have you guys experienced the feature? Are you considering using it?
