Google continues to develop the Messages application on the Android operating system. The feature, which was first discovered by AssembleDebug in the beta version of Google Messages, is expected to come to all users in the future.
It’s time to react with emojis in Google Messages
As you can see from the X post above, it is quite simple to react to messages using animated emojis. After long-pressing on a message, the emojis that appear in the window that opens can be selected. The selected emoji then appears above the message, accompanied by a delightful animation that adds a fun element to the interaction.
In addition to improving communication, this new addition to Google Messages also highlights the company’s ongoing efforts to improve the messaging experience and encourage the adoption of Rich Communication Services (RCS). RCS offers a range of features such as read receipts and group chats with more than ten people, making it a more comprehensive messaging solution than traditional SMS. Apple’s decision to support RCS marks a significant development in the world of messaging. With RCS support, it looks like Google Messages will soon be able to send RCS messages to iPhones, further solidifying its position as a preferred option for users.
