Nio CEO William Li first announced the company’s plans to develop its own smartphone last year. He stated that it will offer deep integration and advanced connectivity features with electric car models. Nio Phone recently received regulatory approval in China. According to official filings, the Nio Phone will run Android, have 5G connectivity and dual SIM card slots. The technical specifications and design of the phone are not yet known. However, the Chinese manufacturer has previously released concept studies that show that the phone can be used in the ES8 SUV.
Nio Phone can make it possible to connect drivers and passengers. Analysts think the company will be included in the in-vehicle artificial intelligence system NOMI and the advanced driver assistance system NIO Pilot.
