The Competition Authority made investigation decisions against Trendyol and sahibinden in 2021 and 2022. Today, the dates for the oral defense of both companies under investigation have been announced.
The Competition Authority, in the announcements it shared on its website, shared that the oral defense will be held on July 11, 10.30 within the scope of the investigation launched on September 23, 2021 about Trendyol (DSM Grup Danışmanlık İletişim ve Satış Ticaret AŞ). On July 27, 2022, the decision of investigation was taken, and he will make his oral defense on July 12 at 10.30.
Oral defenses may be attended as a third party:
Complainant and third parties will be able to participate in the oral defense of both companies if they wish. An application must be made to the Competition Authority by 4 July to participate in Trendyol’s oral defense and by 5 July to participate in sahibinden’s oral defense.
Oral defense can be followed by anyone who wants to, in the online environment. In order to follow the defenses online, the form on the Competition Authority’s website must be filled in at least half an hour before the meeting time.
Why were investigations opened against Trendyol and sahibinden?
The Competition Authority opened the investigation against Trendyol to determine whether the company violated Articles 4 and 6 of Law No. 4054. It will be determined whether the owner violates Article 6 of the same Law.
