Tesla, one of the biggest names in the electric car world, has been going through a turbulent period recently. The company had become the largest automobile company in the world, especially with the success it achieved last year. However, he is currently facing employees due to layoffs.

Tesla lays off 200 Autopilot employees

Tensions between Tesla and its employees have been raging lately. The famous CEO of the company, Elon Musk, had sent an e-mail to his senior executives in the past weeks, stating his thoughts on the economy. In this e-mail, he called his thoughts on the global economy a “super bad feeling” and also signaled the layoffs.

Elon Musk’s goal of downsizing has resulted in 200 more employees being laid off. Workers tasked with tagging data to help train the Autopilot AI system have been dismissed as of today. 200 Autopilot employees were mainly located at Tesla offices in California.

Tesla had about 100,000 employees at the end of 2021. Sources stated that there will be about 10,000 layoffs. This is not the only issue the company is facing with its employees. Tesla was also on the agenda when it required its remote employees to come to the office. It was also stated that workers who did not want to come would be dismissed.

On the other hand, the company’s dismissal policy dragged Tesla to court. According to federal law, companies must notify their employees of the collective dismissal decision at least 60 days in advance. Two former employees of the company sued Tesla on the grounds that this time was not given to them.
