During the time of COVID-19 and the pandemic, many companies had to adopt a way of working from home. In these times when the pandemic is starting to lose its effect, Apple warned its employees a few weeks ago to come to the office three days a week from next month.
Apple’s hybrid work schedule required employees to return to the office on Tuesday, Thursday, and on a third day that varies by team. But Apple Together, which is created by employees and includes a group of workers, does not seem to agree with its platform Apple.
Apple employees do not want to return to the office
Employees who were called to work three days a week at the firm’s Santa Clara Valley offices did not like this plan. Although Tim Cook emphasizes that working together is important to the company culture, employees want to get their work done from where they are or demand a more flexible work schedule.

Apple Together reports that the office environment limits inspiration and that people are happier and more productive in more flexible working conditions. On the other hand, Apple had already changed its new working model. The firm’s original plan for May was for Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays, and this has been revised with a third day that can be chosen by team leaders.
The pandemic has changed the way we work
The disagreement between Apple and its employees is not limited to this dialogue. Apple’s head of machine learning, Ian Goodfellow, left the company a few months ago to move to Google for more flexible working conditions. On the other hand, during the pandemic period, many companies and business sectors offered their employees the option to work from home. Despite the end of the pandemic, some business sectors maintain this working order.
