Space tourism is becoming more and more possible now. Large space transportation companies such as SpaceX and Blue Origin are performing one-to-one flights. In recent months, Blue Origin has made its first all-civilian spaceflight.
World View Enterprises also wants to send people into the stratosphere. Founded 10 years ago, the company focused on sending scientific research payloads into the stratosphere in balloons. But now it aims to bring people to the stratosphere from 2024, thanks to the reduction of costs.
They want to change the course of space tourism
World View has announced that by 2024 it can send people into the stratosphere in a balloon. World View’s capsules will carry people to an altitude of about 18 miles. The capsules, which will accommodate eight people, are expected to perform up to 100 flights per year over cultural, historical and natural attractions around the world.
The Arizona-based space tourism company admits that the altitude at which it will transport people is lower than NASA’s missions. However, he states that World View passengers will still see the curvature of the Earth and the darkness of space. By the way, the trips will take about 6 to 8 hours. However, there will also be five-day cruises that fly over historical sites. Among these places are landmarks such as the Great Barrier Reef and the Pyramids of Giza.
Space tourism often brings with it many difficulties and restrictions. For example, unlike other options that challenge passengers due to rocket rides and g-force, World View suggested that balloon flight is suitable for all ages and health conditions.
Let’s come to the cost of this flight. Of course, such a flight will not cost you cheap. A single seat costs $50,000. In other words, the TL equivalent of the current exchange rate is around 445 thousand TL. The first flights will depart from Page, Arizona. However, the Great Barrier Reef in Australia, the Pyramids of Giza in Egypt and other important places will be included in the list in the future.
