Joe Rogan has issued an apology after Spotify removed nearly 70 episodes of his podcast after videos of the comedian using racist insults on his past shows went viral on social media.
Earlier this week, Grammy-winning singer India.Arie removed her catalog from Spotify and posted videos of Rogan’s episodes containing racist rhetoric. The musician, who posted the posts on Instagram, stated that Rogan should not make such a statement under any circumstances.
The comedian, who signed a $100 million deal with Spotify to show his show on Spotify in 2020, issued an apology on the subject on Instagram; “I don’t want to be seen as racist and I don’t want to offend anyone,” he said. This apology came after Spotify removed 70 of the comedian’s podcasts from the system.
The same Rogan was protested by many artists on the grounds that he made false information about the COVID-19 vaccine in his podcasts, and artists such as Neil Young removed their works from the platform. There was even a campaign to delete Spotify and cancel memberships on social media.
