READING NOW The company behind it surprised: this is how iOS users are tracked!

With iOS 15.4, Apple introduced App Tracking Transparency to protect user privacy. App Transparency Permission, as the name suggests, only tracks iOS users with permission. However, according to the report prepared by independent researchers, some app developers track iOS users even if App Tracking Transparency is enabled. Let’s take a look at the details of the news together.

Apps follow iOS users with code!

According to the report of independent researchers, app developers bypass App Tracking Transparency and follow iOS users. Developers follow users with a code. The code is provided by a subsidiary of Alibaba company, according to the developers. As a result, advertising companies target the user by using the content thanks to the information.

In the study, 1759 applications with and without Application Tracking Transparency were compared. A quarter of the apps followed not using any user data. But the results show that 80 percent of apps are still tracking users and collecting data. Independent researchers explained:

Our findings show that tracking companies, particularly larger companies with access to first-party treasury, continue to track users behind the scenes. They can do this in a number of ways, including using IP addresses to link setup-specific identities between apps, and sign-in functionality provided by individual apps (e.g. Google or Facebook sign-in or email address).

Necessary applications on the subject did not make any explanation. It is curiously expected whether Apple will do anything in the face of this situation.
