Retro consoles have a big share in the game industry’s arrival to these days. These devices, which left their mark on the 90s and are described as the ancestors of today’s consoles, have become a center of attraction for people who do software and modding, especially in recent years. In fact, a software expert recently claimed that he could play popular games, especially GTA 5, on a 33-year-old Game Boy.
The claim that GTA 5 was run on a 33-year-old Game Boy
A new one has been added to the actions of the mod makers, who love to push the limits in the game industry, that leave the gamers’ mouths open. Software expert and mod maker Sebastian Staacks; He announced that he managed to run the GTA 5, original Doom and Crysis 1 games on the 33-year-old Game Boy console, which was released by Nintendo in 1989 and became a phenomenon by marking the 90s.
Staacks, interestingly, claims that it has not made any modifications to the Game Boy console for this process. Here he emphasizes that it’s just a Game Boy cartridge with built-in Wi-Fi and running games through it. The explanation of the software developer on the subject is as follows;
A few weeks ago I created a Game Boy cartridge with built-in Wi-Fi. Later, I taught myself how to open games and play them in full screen thanks to the Wi-Fi feature. I did not make any changes to the console.
Of course, after this statement, while comments that such a thing is impossible, a video was published by Staacks a while ago, detailing how the console opens these games that are impossible to run normally. We even see Staacks playing GTA 5 at 20 FPS on Game Boy in the video in question.
So what do you think about this subject? Do you think there’s a chance Sebastian Staacks will be able to run these games with just one Game Boy game cartridge? Do not forget to share your views with us in the comments section.
