Facebook goes through a radical change with its name
Taking an active role in the VR and AR sectors with Oculus, Facebook will offer users the opportunity to interact online with virtual reality technologies. The platform, called Metaverse, is described as the 3D internet.
Just as Google gathered all its companies under the roof of Alphabet in 2015, it is estimated that Facebook will establish an umbrella company to oversee its products such as Instagram and WhatsApp.
It is among the allegations that the name of the new parent company is kept secret by Facebook officials. It is stated that Mark Zuckerberg will announce the new name at the Connect conference to be held on October 28.
Facebook, the world’s most popular social network with 2.89 billion monthly active users, has recently made multiple purchases and entered different sectors.
