After revealing the first Oscar awards in 1929, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences began preparations for a museum they wanted to dedicate to Los Angeles films to reflect the foundations of the motion picture industry.
The preparations of the museum, which was designed to keep important pieces related to the film industry throughout history, took exactly 92 years and the museum, which contains valuable works, opened its doors for the first time with a big gala.

In fact, the opening date of the museum was set for 2017, but the inability to complete the preparations on time put the opening date of the Motion Picture Academy Museum into a vicious circle. With the effect of the pandemic, people’s thoughts about the museum, which was postponed once again, started to change slowly towards never being opened.
The long-awaited Cinema Film Academy Museum opened its doors with a gala attended by world-famous stars such as Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, Brad Pitt and Kristen Stewart.
The Museum of Motion Picture Academy has hundreds of important artifacts related to the film industry, such as a magnificent wall with 20 important Oscar statues, a gallery dedicated to the costume designs in The Wizard of Oz, and the iconic dresses that Marilyn Monroe wore in the movie Men Love Blondes.
