Days before the introduction of the Samsung Galaxy S23 family, new leaks are emerging about the devices. According to the latest claim, the Galaxy S23 128GB model will have a slower storage technology. So why did Samsung make such a decision for the entry-level S23 model?
Galaxy S23 128GB will come with UFS 3.1 storage
According to popular leaker Ice Universe, the 128GB variant of the Galaxy S23 will come with UFS 3.1 storage, while the 256GB and 512GB models will feature the latest UFS 4.0 technology. This reveals that Samsung will distinguish between its standard and high-end models.
The Galaxy S23 128 GB model may have some disadvantages in terms of storage. Similar to other models of the series, LPDDR5X will have RAM, while the same technology will not be used in storage. Galaxy S23 Plus and S23 Ultra’s 256 GB and 512 GB storage options will come with UFS 4.0 technology.
The reason why the technology giant makes a distinction in storage technology is due to stock problems. As Ice Universe reports, only Japanese manufacturer Kioxia produces 128GB UFS 4.0. However, it does not create significant performance gains compared to Samsung’s UFS 3.1 modules. That’s why the company will use its own UFS 3.1 modules.
The Galaxy S23 series will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 modified for Samsung. The Galaxy S23 Ultra, which is stated to come with a 6.8-inch screen, will offer a resolution of 3,088 x 1,440. Galaxy S23 Ultra will have 8 GB and 12 GB RAM, Galaxy S23 and S23 Plus will only have 8 GB RAM versions.
The Galaxy S23 price list, which appeared on the Orange.pl website, is as follows:
- S23 8/256 GB: 6,069 zloty (1,289 euro)
- S23 Plus 8/256 GB: 7,049 zloty (1,603 euro)
- S23 Plus 8/512GB: 8,159 zloty (1,733 euro)
- S23 Ultra 8/256 GB: 8,328 zloty (1,770 euro)
- S23 Ultra 12/512GB: 8,679 zloty (1,843 euro)
