Lack of range and wired charging issues have yet to be resolved in the electric vehicle industry. US-based Ram Trucks announced that they have developed wireless charging technology for electric cars.
Ram Charger electric car wireless charging technology introduced
Introducing the Ram 1500 Revolution concept model last week, the company is starting a new era in the electric vehicle market. The inductive charging robot called Ram Charger will be able to wirelessly charge electric vehicles.
Commenting on the matter, Mike Koval, CEO of Ram, said, “From our Real Talk tour, we saw that our customers were talking about not only electric car range, but also the challenges of charging. As we mentioned at the CES 2023 event held in Las Vegas, we will make charging in electric cars easier thanks to the technologies I have developed.” made statements.
The Ram Charger technology, which is still under development, will take its place on the production line in 2025. Developed by EFI Automotive, the robot moves from its base to the bottom of the car, positioning itself perfectly under the inductive receiver in the vehicle. It removes the disc-shaped inductive charger, essentially making the vehicle contact the device. The charger returns to its pole-shaped base when finished.
The company claims it’s better than other inductive charging systems that leave an air gap between the charger and the receiver. It is worth noting that the efficiency rate announced by Ram is 97 percent.
