NASA is generally on the agenda with space exploration and rockets it sends to the sky. Especially the rockets and satellites sent by the space agency to space attract great attention. NASA had another remarkable event the other day, but this time they made noise before going into space.
NASA bids farewell to Marshall Space Flight Center
NASA demolished a long-used old administrative center over the weekend. Located at the Marshall Space Flight Center in Alabama, the building has long been a major hub. The structure, called Building 4200, turned to dust in just seconds. The Marshall Space Flight Center’s YouTube channel published this event.
Building 4200 served as the administrative center of the Marshall Space Flight Center from 1963 to 2020. The building, which was almost destroyed by the controlled explosion, left a large dust cloud behind. With the sharing, it was seen once again how easy the controlled explosion made the demolition work.
By demolishing the old headquarters, NASA created a new workspace for itself. NASA has long been making new plans for the future. The space agency is expected to install new state-of-the-art facilities in place of the demolished building.
NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Center has been operating since 1960. Covering approximately 4,450 hectares, the center has hosted many important works so far, including the Apollo moon mission. The facility, which has more than 6,000 employees in total, is one of the largest centers of the space agency in this sense.
Marshall engineers, scientists, and researchers have demonstrated technologies in the fields of space transport and thrusters, space habitats, and planetary landings. Officials here also continue to work on a wide variety of projects, working on important developments in complex space systems and scientific research.
By demolishing this old but historical building, NASA made room for new and much more technological facilities. So what do you think about NASA and its work? You can share your views with us in the comments section.
