Although the new Macbook models and operating systems were mostly taken into consideration at Apple’s WWDC event , CarPlay also witnessed important developments. CarPlay , as it is known, allows iPhone models to work in harmony with vehicle infotainment systems. At this stage, the new features of Apple CarPlay , which competed with Android Auto , started to be used.
Some auto companies don’t expect 2023 for the new CarPlay
CarPlay makes iOS apps and services available on the touchscreen infotainment screen. In this way, it is aimed to prevent the distraction of drivers who do not have to use their phones to access the applications they want.
Music and navigation applications can be controlled via Apple CarPlay , as well as accessing basic Apple services such as Siri. At the WWDC 2022 event , Apple announced that CarPlay will be completely renewed and will get a much more advanced version.
Among the most striking new features of CarPlay is the possibility to completely replace the elements on the instrument panel. In this way, the speedometer, battery or tank status, touch keys and controls of air conditioning elements will be changed. At this stage, the control and customization options will depend on the automakers.
Although Apple introduced the new CarPlay system this year, it announced that the new features will be used by the end of 2023 . However, some companies have announced that they will already include extended CarPlay systems in their vehicles.
