Facebook accounts of downloaders are locked!
The app, called Pages Manager Suite, was available on the App Store as Facebook’s legitimate ad manager, but was actually a backdoor that allowed hackers to access user accounts. Approved as document manager from Apple
Apple said the app originally debuted on the App Store as a simple document manager with no connection or functionality to the Facebook platform. Apple claimed that the app was turned malicious after approval.
The app has been removed
Facebook reported the app to Apple in July, but the app has just been removed from the platform.
Be careful when downloading apps from the Apple App Store!
Apple states that the App Store is a safe and reliable place to discover and download apps, and apps are held to the highest standards in terms of privacy, security and content. The company scans apps before they’re available for download on the App Store.
According to the company’s statement, in 2021, over 250,000 applications were not released because they violated privacy rules, and more than 1 million applications were not included in the App Store on the grounds that they were not safe. However, the efforts are insufficient. Some of the apps that appear among the top apps on the Apple App Store have earned scammers millions of dollars.
